The Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka (DCSL) yesterday participated in the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) bell-ringing ceremony on the first trading day of August. This event was yet another in a series of market opening ceremonies featuring the companies from the S&P SL20 index.
Alternate Director of DCSL and Managing Director of Melstacorp Ltd. Amitha Gooneratne, DCSL Chief Executive Officer Maximus Peiris, Group Financial Controller Cleetus Mallawaarachchi, Head of HR Gayathri Chakravarthy, CSE Chairman Vajira Kulatilaka, CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike and the senior management from the CSE took part in the market opening ceremony.
Kulatilaka said the purpose of this was to create and strengthen the relationship the companies had with the CSE and also benchmark and show the largest companies in Sri Lanka to outsiders. “It is part of our plan to make CSE reach global standards,” he added.
