Rapidly expanding Divasa Finance Limited recently opened its fifth branch, this time in the bustling town of Wennapuwa, affectionately known as ‘Little Italy’ due to the high remittances received from expatriates in the area.
Located at No 23/1 Chilaw Road, Wennapuwa, the branch is located in a spacious new building in Wennapuwa town with ample parking facilities. The branch was declared open amidst a gathering of the Chairman of the Wennapuwa Provincial Council Susantha Fernando, the Deputy Chairman of the Wennapuwa Provincial Council Trevin Fernando, Chairman and the Board of Directors along with other management, staff, customers and well wishers.
This fast developing town extends over two kilometres in length and has an economy centred on the coconut, fishing and roofing tiles industries.
The people of the area are seen to be enterprising and remittances received from expatriate finances are available but advice is needed on how to invest such funds.
Speaking about the opening up in Wennapuwa, Divasa Finance Limited Director/CEO Lakshman Uduwara said, “Divasa is keen to leave its footprints in more and more major towns and as a result are in Wennapuwa. We also have a desire to uplift the living standards of the business community by providing for efficient services to suit their needs.”
He also announced with pride that Divasa recently received a BB- rating from RAM Ratings Lanka Limited and also has plans to seek listing on the Colombo Stock Exchange in the near future. Divasa also has plans to open at least two more branches outside the Western Province during the year.
