Maximising after-tax income requires a little early planning and effort, but the time one spends chipping away at income taxes may be the most profitable investment for 2011.
A One Day Workshop titled ‘How to Maximise after Tax Income’ by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) will be conducted on 17 December 2010 at FCCISL Chamber Academy Colombo, No. 53, Vauxhall Lane, Colombo 2.
The workshop is carefully projected to give an understanding on how to maximise valuable after-tax incomes. The workshop consists of two sessions; in the morning Kulathunge Perera, Head – Research and Policy Advocacy of FCCISL (former Sri Lanka Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organisation) will address the gathering on ‘Economic Impact of Budget Proposals 2011 on Sri Lankan Business Community’.
Deputy Commissioners A.A. Dayaratne and K.G.C. Priyadarshani from the Department of Inland Revenue will conduct a discussion on topics such as ‘How Tax Liability is Computed and Reported,
‘How Inland Revenue Looks at Tax Returns and Supporting Documents,’ ‘Inland Revenue Tax Administration,’ ‘Types of Taxes’ and ‘Who are Liable to these Different Taxes?’
The strategies of ‘Maximising After Tax Income,’ ‘Tax as a Business Expense’ and ‘Tax Compliance’ will be discussed in the afternoon session by R.A. Jayaweera from PE Mathew & Company – Chartered Accountants.
FCCISL as the Apex Body of the Sri Lanka’s private sector which covers over 50 chambers of commerce and trade associations representing nearly 12,500 business establishments will conduct the seminar as a service to its corporate members and associated organisations.
Further, to serve the regional business community, the seminar will be conducted at FCCISL Regional Training Centres named ‘FCCISL Chamber Academies’ in Kurunegala and Gampaha on 15 and 29 December 2010.
Details of the seminar can be obtained from the Training Division on Tel: 011 2304253/ 2304254 – Ext 508/510 or 071-8294133.
