Finance House Association elects Softlogic Finance CEO Nalin as President

The Finance House Association of Sri Lanka (FHASL) has unanimously appointed Softlogic Finance PLC Director/CEO Nalin Wijekoon as the new FHASL President for the 2013/2014 at their Council Meeting held on 10 October, 2013.
FHASL was established in 1958 as the professional association of registered finance companies of Sri Lanka, works together with the regulators, the Leasing Association, the Institute of Credit Management, the Ceylon Chamber Of Commerce and the Credit Information Bureau to create an atmosphere of sincerity and cooperation between its members. Wijekoon brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having worked for over 30 years in the financial sector. He was appointed as the Deputy CEO at Softlogic Finance PLC and later became Director/CEO of company. In the past, he lent his expertise to reputed companies such as People’s Bank, KPMG Ford Rhodes, DFCC and Vanik Incorporation Ltd.
Wijekoon is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Sri Lanka and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, and a Finalist of the Institute of Bankers (Sri Lanka). He has also received training from prestigious programs both held locally and internationally, including at Harvard University.
As incoming President, Wijekoon will act as a strategic visionary, allowing the 42 members of FAHSL to run smoothly. He will implement training sessions for employees within the Association. He also hopes to contribute to the local economy, encouraging FDI and connecting with industry regulators in order to build stakeholder confidence.
