First SME business centre of People’ Bank opens in Anuradhapura

Under the Government program of strengthening small and medium scale business sectors, People’s Bank opened its first small and medium scale business centre in Anuradhapura recently under the patronage of Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa.

This centre, located at No. 561/61, Mahajana Pola Mawatha, Anuradhapura, was opened simultaneously with the Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition and will offer loan facilities for agriculture based products, livestock, apparel, fisheries, tourism, construction and many more business sectors.

Furthermore, it is equipped with a complete library with internet access and auditorium facility. Also, an efficient and friendly consultation service is on offer at the business centre by specially trained staff.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology Ranjith Siyabalapitiya, Minister of Agrarian Services and Wildlife S.M. Chandrasena and Anuradhapura District Parliamentarian Shehan Semasinghe, public representatives of the area, Government officials, People’s Bank Chairman W. Karunajeewa, People’s Bank Director Dr. D.J. D. Jayakody, staff, corporate and Executive Management of People’s Bank and customers.
