HSBC announced the launch of yet another rewarding promotion that offers all its credit cardholders a chance to win ‘Free Fuel’ for one year when they swipe their credit card to refuel at petrol stations across the country until 31 December 2010.

The on-going fuel promotion, will give all eligible cardholders a chance to win with every multiple transaction made each week, during the promotion period. Winners will be selected through weekly draws whereby the winning cardholder will receive four times the amount of his/her weekly fuel spend with a maximum rebate of Rs. 25,000 per month for 12 months. As a result, eleven lucky winners will stand to receive free fuel rebates starting 1 January to 31 December 2011.

Speaking on the latest campaign, Nadeesha Senaratne, Head of Cards and Consumer Assets at HSBC said, “We understand fuel is an essential need of our cardholders, hence we wanted them to enjoy the benefit of free fuel for a whole year by simply swiping their HSBC credit card and saving. Being the pioneer in refunding the fuel surcharge in 2005, we have also introduced HSBC rewards points on fuel spend. As a result, cardholders not only get interest free credit, but have the opportunity to earn Rewards points for every Rs.100 spent at any fuel station island-wide and the benefit of enjoying free fuel for a full year every week from now till the end of December.”

This latest initiative strengthens HSBC’s position as being a customer-centric bank with the continued development of value added products and services.

The HSBC credit card is not just globally recognised – it also brings with it powerful local privileges and the influence of acceptance and distinctive quality.

Furthermore, with an ever-increasing number and variety of benefits and rewards for credit cardholders, HSBC defines the standard for excellence in customer service and prestige.
