THE Commercial Bank of Ceylon is preparing to reward all beneficiaries of remittances via its sophisticated ‘e-Exchange’ instant money transfer service this Avurudu season.

All beneficiaries of remittances via ‘e-Exchange’ between 1 and 15 April will receive e-Exchange branded gifts, the bank announced.

The bank will be also carrying out a series of special promotional activities at selected locations, including its Kurunegala Remittance Centre and the Ambalangoda, Anuradhapura and Batticaloa branches.

The activities at these locations which will be tastefully decorated, include an ‘Avurudu Kema Mesaya’ with special delicacies made for the New Year and the ‘e-Exchange Happy Customer Hour’ at which Bank officials will present valuable e-Exchange branded gifts to customers.

A mini ‘Avurudu Festival’ has also been arranged at the Kurunegala Remittance Centre.

A mobile promotional vehicle will tour the environs of the Kurunegala Remittance Centre and the Anuradhapura and Batticaloa branches. Members of Commercial Bank’s Remittance team will visit the chosen locations to conduct these promotions.

“Apart from rewarding customers who use our instant money transfer service and promoting this facility, this year’s promotions focus on further strengthening ties with our customers,” Commercial Bank’s Senior Manager for e-Banking Pradeep Banduwansa said. “Celebrating Avurudu with our customers enables us to engage with them at a personal level.”

Promotional activities at the Ambalangoda, Anuradhapura and Batticaloa branches will be conducted on 5, 8 and 11 April respectively and on 7 April at the Kurunegala Remittance Centre. Arrangements will be made for extended banking hours and holiday banking at key locations for remittances for the benefit and convenience of beneficiaries.

These locations include the Matale, Ambalangoda, Chilaw, Anuradhapura, Kalutara, Gampola, Kuliyapitiya, Nittambuwa, Mawanella, Elpitiya, Avissawella, Kaduruwela and Kekirawa branches and the Kurunegala Remittance Centre.

Commercial Bank’s ‘e-Exchange’ service is a sophisticated yet low cost real time on-line money transfer facility which is available to remitters through a network of agents in over 50 countries.

Recipients of remittances can collect proceeds from any of Commercial Bank’s 196 computer-linked branches, a significant number of which are open even on bank holidays and access their funds through the bank’s ATM network of 413 terminals, which is the largest cash-dispensing system in the country.
