HNB Assurance wins first inter-insurance quiz

HNB Assurance was placed first at the inaugural inter-insurance team quiz, which was held recently at Excel World. 

The winning team consisted of Dinuka Priyankara – Assistant Manager Marketing, Geethani Seram – Acting Head of Support Services, Dinesh Udawatta – Head of Operations, Rohan Hemantha – Manager Risk and Compliance and Gayan Tennakoon – Assistant Manager Finance. This was the first quiz competition organised by the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII). About 30 teams, each with five members, faced the quizmaster together and wrote the answers in a group effort.This competition was open to all member companies of the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) and the Sri Lanka Insurance Brokers Association (SLIBA).

The event built a good rapport within the insurance community by encouraging interaction amongst participants. The competition created a platform for knowledge to be imparted and exchanged on various subjects including insurance, history, geography, sports, science, literature and entertainment, current affairs and IQ/Logical reasoning. 

As the SLII is the premier professional body of insurance education in Sri Lanka, this initiative fulfilled the objective of educating and providing professional development for those within the insurance industry while creating a social forum for its members.
