HNB Assurance wins international award for Digital Marketing in Singapore

HNB Assurance won a top award for Digital Marketing Excellence under the sub-categoy ‘Best use of Facebook’ at the fifth CMO Asia Awards Social Media & Digital Marketing Excellence Awards held at Pan Pacific hotel, Singapore recently. HNB Assurance won this award for its enhanced activations on Digital Media particularly its strong presence on Facebook, becoming the only Insurance Company in Sri Lanka to have won this award. HNB Assurance to be amongst the winners representing iconic brands around the Asia Pacific region is an outstanding achievement. The awards were judged by an independent jury comprising senior and accomplished professionals from Marketing, Branding, and Advertising. HNBA has moved from conventional advertising to an unconventional modern approach to endorse the brand. Social media plays a vital role in delivering messages rapidly to the community in this modern day and age and the company has begun to use it in multiple ways in its marketing activities. HNB Assurance Managing Director Manjula de Silva stated, “We are honoured to have won this award since it’s the first won in the sphere of Digital Marketing in Sri Lanka. Social media now plays a key role in Marketing & Advertising. Since most global brands are highly active in this sphere, we too have built a strong brand presence on social media. Our Facebook page currently has received the admiration of more than 86,000 fans as at end of July 2014 and through this page we regularly conduct various interactive games and competitions, which have been well-received. We have also embarked upon various brand awareness campaigns using the web, as well as through the popular YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.” Commenting on the achievement, HNB Assurance Head of Marketing Dilshan Perera stated, “Customer engagement is the key toour success. When you start participating in a conversation, you need to speak to the overall market and take part with helpful, quality content so that your audience will share the experience they have with your company with others online. Building these relationships with customers and market conversation influencers will help our online presence evolve positively and organically. “We conduct many ‘like & share’ competitions. As a method of targeting the youth segment, we gave out movie tickets for the Percy Jackson show. We have also conducted ‘X Men days of future past’, ‘HNBA FIFA World Cup mania’ for the football fans and ‘Liyaharasara quiz’ competitions. HNB Assurance also created an app on FB for school leavers to apply for a training program by posting their CV’s on FB via the S2O app. Along with the competitions, HNB Assurance fan page shares daily inspirational and motivational quotes, where fans can relate and share common lessons of their life with, we have seen fans sharing our posts and commenting on the posts.
