HNB Assurance’s Pushpika among the few qualified actuaries in SL

pension funds and many more. Pushpika Seneviratne of HNB Assurance PLC is among the few fully-qualified actuaries in Sri Lanka, having recently attained the Associateship from the Society of Actuaries, US (ASA). Seneviratne is a past student of Methodist College, Colombo; she has obtained a Physical Science Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) First Class from University of Colombo. She won three Gold medals for being judged as the ‘Best Student in the Physical Science Stream at Colombo University 2006,’ ‘Best Student in the Science Stream at the Colombo University 2006’ and was selected as one of the best four students among selected local universities in the country (2006). Seneviratne pursued the Masters Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Leicester, UK. Being unique among other actuaries in Sri Lanka, she has also become an Associate Member of CIMA, UK and CGMA, USA which makes her a Global Management Accountant as well. Commenting on Seneviratne’s achievement, Managing Director of HNB Assurance Manjula de Silva stated: “We are proud of Pushpika’s high accomplishments especially for becoming one of a handful of professional actuaries in Sri Lanka having attained the Associateship from a recognised professional body of actuaries.
