HNB conducts Pathum Vimana 2013 year end draws in grand style

Hatton National Bank (HNB), the premier private sector commercial bank in Sri Lanka, conducted the Pathum Vimana 2013 Year End Grand Draw and the Premium Draw, its signature rewards program, at a ceremony held at HNB Towers.
The winner of the Grand Draw, who receives a luxury house worth Rs. 10 million or the cash equivalent and the winner of the Premium Draw, who receives a Mercedes-Benz car, were selected by HNB Chief Operating Officer Dilshan Rodrigo and Assistant General Manager – Personal Financial Services R.M.P. Dayawansa. The draw was carried out under the supervision of Senior Tax Officer, Department of Revenue, Western Provincial Council N.S. Nawarathne.
Customer balances of all savings, minor, senior citizens, Adhishtana and Yauwanabhimana account holders as at 31 December 2013 were considered in determining their eligibility to enter the draws. Account holders with a balance of a minimum of Rs. 10,000 qualified for the Grand Draw while those with a balance of a minimum of Rs. 100,000 qualified for the Premium Draw.
Launched in 1993 and carried out consecutively for 21 years, Pathum Vimana is the longest running rewards scheme in Sri Lanka and was introduced in order to inculcate the habit of saving among Sri Lankans. This objective has been achieved as the program has generated tremendous interest among the general public.
Pathum Vimana has produced 222,433 winners to date with total prizes in excess of Rs. 1.3 billion in value. In 2013 alone HNB rewarded its customers with nine Suzuki Swift cars, 50 iPads and 50 iPhones through various draw schemes, in addition to producing 7 millionaires through the popular Millionaire Draw.
HNB was recognised as the Bank of the Year in Sri Lanka for the years 2012 and 2013 by the Banker Magazine UK and was named the Best Retail Bank in Sri Lanka by the Asian Banker Magazine for six consecutive years from 2008 to 2013.
