We must create a society which would respect all human beings and their cultural values,” Abeywickrema said in his speech at the opening.

“People in Devinuwara are very honest and they have a very strong attachment to the Devinuwara Devalaya. Due to this reason they have spiritually gained friendliness, eagerness, and help each other with courage. These noble qualities of them are gained as a result of this religious environment,” he added.

“Spiritual development in the Devinuwara area should be spread out to the whole country.

The value of spiritual development should be spread to people of the country. It should be cultivated from Dondra Head to Point Pedro, across the entire country.

Also the cultural and psychological development should be developed and continued as a concept that have an impact on the human well-being and for the country. If the concept of spiritual development is propagated across the country we can fully utilise the effects of the development. Therefore, I would like to say that Hatton National Bank will come forward and take the lead role to promote this concept,” Abeywickrema said.
