HNB rewards savings habit this Avurudu season with gifts for the entire family

Recognised as the ‘The Best Retail Bank’ for the ninth year by the Asian Banker 2017 Award ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan and one which altered the banking landscape in Sri Lanka with many innovative banking initiatives, HNB is gearing to celebrate ‘Aluth Avurudu’ and ‘Avurudu Ganu Denu’ in true Sri Lankan fashion with novel concepts this year. 

HNB announced the launch of an exciting new Avurudu savings remittances promotion aimed at rewarding both existing and new customers for deposits made with the bank during the month of April. 

Expanding on previous rewards packages, this year’s promotion will for the first time allow HNB customers to choose from an even wider array of rewards based on the amounts they deposit during the Avurudu season.

Under this year’s promotion, customers who make a minimum deposit of Rs. 50,000 will be eligible to win a brand new toaster, while deposits of Rs. 100,000 will give customers an additional choice between an electric jug kettle, a rice cooker or a steam iron, Rs. 200,000 a mixer grinder or an multi-purpose adjustable stand fan, and Rs. 250,000 a Pureit water filter. 

All items offered will be HNB branded and come with a one-year warranty and will be available for as long as stocks last; however HNB’s Senior Manager – Deposit Mobilisation Viranga Gamage stated that the bank was already working to increase stocks in order to reward even more of its customers this year. 

In addition to HNB’s general savings promotion, the bank also announced that it would run a Minor Savings promotion to reward the bank’s youngest customers as well. Minors who make a deposit of Rs. 10,000 will win a Ludo game set which includes three other games, while deposits of Rs. 50,000 will be eligible for a badminton set    

“The Sinhala and Tamil New Year is a very important time of the year for so many Sri Lankans across the island. One of HNB’s core objectives during the coming year is to find ways to deepen our relationships with our customers, while supporting them to achieve their goals in life. Our goal with this year’s promotion was to really expand on the array of gifts available to our best and most loyal customers and in doing so, help to better associate the idea of the savings habit with the progress that the dawning of each New Year brings,” he explained.

Expanding its Avurudu benefits to Sri Lankans who are celebrating Sinhala and Tamil New Year overseas, HNB also announced the launch of rewards packages to all customers who make remittances through HNB up to 15 June. 

Under the program, all customers who make over the counter remittance encashment with HNB will get a torch, while 10 customers will be eligible to receive cash prizes of Rs. 25,000 while another five winners will be selected to receive Rs. 50,000 and one lucky winner will receive a brand new Suzuki Alto car at the final raffle draw. All winners will be selected at a raffle draw taking place at the end of June. This draw was open exclusively for Cash Payout beneficiaries and those who use foreign inward remittances to remit money directly towards their HNB account. 

HNB customers who received inward remittances sent from anywhere in the world via HNB’s MoneyGram, Ria, Sigue and XPRESSMONEY also qualify for the draw
