Hatton National Bank unveiled a new and upgraded mobile banking facility last week, promising a more simplified user experience, calling it an unparalleled product that will revolutionise the marketplace.
HNB Deputy General Manager Retail Banking Dilshan Rodrigo stated: “As the latest innovation in electronic banking services, HNB mobile banking, which is a very important product introduction to the bank, will bring simplicity, ease and convenience to customers in carrying out their day-to-day banking transactions on the phone. Almost every person in Sri Lanka carries a mobile phone. We are giving an opportunity to all of them to be able to bank on their phones now.”
The service is to be compatible with all mobile phone handsets in the market currently, from high end smartphones to the most basic model available and will also be accessible through any mobile network as well.
Expanding on the added benefits of the new service, Rodrigo explained: “The real advantage of this facility is the ability to do your banking anywhere and at any time. For example, you could access your account balance, transfer funds between accounts, send money to another HNB account, pay your electricity bills, set up a standing order to settle your insurance premium or order a new cheque book, all whilst maybe standing in a supermarket queue or even commuting to office.”
Rodrigo went on to give an assurance that the service would work within a fully secure environment where the customer’s confidentiality and privacy in transactions would not be compromised. The service is available free to all of its customers through a simple sign-up process with no registration fees and annual maintenance fees charged. Customers can contact the nearest customer centre to obtain the service which will be backed by a 24 hour call centre for any queries.
