HSBC appoints new Head of Payments and Cash Management in Sri Lanka and Maldives

HSBC has appointed Dineth Nanayakkara to the role of Head of Payments and Cash Management for HSBC in Sri Lanka where he will be responsible for delivering global cash and liquidity management services and products to corporates and financial institutions.
Based in Colombo Sri Lanka, Nanayakkara will report locally to Chamira Wijetilleke, Head of Commercial Banking for HSBC in Sri Lanka and regionally to Yvonne Yiu, Head of Business Management, Asia Pacific. Dineth was previously Senior Vice President – Regional Sales for HSBC Payments and Cash Management Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong.
Commenting on the appointment Patrick Gallagher, CEO HSBC Sri Lanka and Maldives, said: “We are very pleased to have Dineth joining our leadership team; his regional experience and exposure will bring a fresh perspective to our business and certainly help further developing HSBC payments and cash management capabilities in Sri Lanka and Maldives.”
Nanayakkara joined HSBC in 1996 and has held various roles within the bank’s Cash Management and Global Trade and Receivables Financing franchise in Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. Prior to taking up his regional sales role in Hong Kong, Nanayakkara was responsible for Learning and Development for HSBC’s Payments and Cash Management Business in Asia Pacific.
Nanayakkara assumes the role following the move of Sri Lanka’s previous Head of Payments and Cash Management, Amesh Dissanayake to HSBC Maldives.
