In a fresh drive to educate the country on Accounting Standards, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) will commence a series of seminars on Sri Lanka Accounting Standards from 8th February 2011 at the ICASL Auditorium.
Organized by the Financial Reporting Faculty of the ICASL, the 29 seminars which will be held over a period of four months ending in May 2011, will aim to promote better understanding of the Accounting Standards, specifically covering all standards issued in the 2011 Bound Volume which includes the following new standards:
IFRS 1 – First-time Adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards
IFRS 4 – Insurance Contracts
IFRS 6 – Exploration for and Evaluation of Mineral Resources
IFRS 29 – Financial Reporting in Hyperinflationary Economies, and
IAS 41 - Agriculture
A highly resourceful team representing leading audit firms and corporates will edify participants on the Accounting Standards during the three-hour long seminars which will conclude on 30th May 2011.
