Indian Bank to open three more branches

Chennai-based Indian Bank plans to open three more branches in Sri Lanka within the next year. The Indian Bank has received the approval from India’s central bank, Reserve Bank of India, to open the three branches in Tamil dominated areas in Sri Lanka. Indian Bank Chairman and Managing Director T.M. Bhasin said that the new branches will be opened in Trincomalee and Batticaloa in Eastern Province and Hambantota in the Southern Province. The bank already has two branches in Colombo and Jaffna. The new branches will come be established within the next 12 months, according to the Managing Director.
