Industry leaders to meet at 3rd Capital Markets Conference tomorrow

Sri Lanka’s Capital Markets have undergone a sea of change over the past year, with the advent of new and innovative product offerings, enhanced M&A activity and a plethora of entrants. The dynamism exhibited has seldom been seen in the past and this augurs well for not just those involved in the Capital Markets but the financial sector as a whole.
The recent Capital Markets Conference, organised by the SEC, targeting foreign Fund Managers, brought together investors and issuers alike at a single forum which saw the spotlight shone firmly on the potential for investing in Sri Lanka. It was visibly apparent that Sri Lanka firmly features on the radar of international Fund Managers and the performance of the stock markets provides ample testimony to this fact. CAPM 2015 is expected to complement this event.
Following two successful conferences in 2013 and 2014, the third annual installment of the CAPM Conference will witness a gathering of several distinguished personnel from what broadly constitutes the capital market industry in Sri Lanka.
CAPM Conference 2015 scheduled to be held at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo on the 18 March 2015 is expected to continue the trend set at past events with industry leaders, experts, CEOs and key decision-makers engaging in discussions on current topics, designed for maximum interaction with those attending. The theme ‘consolidation, innovation, initiative’ reflects the status quo of the industry and will set the stage for discussions germane to a wide spectrum of topics.
The opening session of the conference will witness deliberations on the impact of the mini-budget, the consolidation of the banking and finance sector and the outlook for interest rates and forex rates in 2015. This will be followed by sessions on ‘Attracting Foreign Investment’ the ‘Alternate Investment Market’, ‘Mergers & Acquisition’, ‘Private Wealth Management’ and ‘Stock Market Outlook’.
Minister of Highways, Higher Education and Investment Promotion Minister Kabir Hashim will be the Chief Guest and deliver the keynote address. With over 20 speakers, comprising CEOs and industry leaders from diverse organisations, the CAPM 2015 Conference promises to be an event not to be missed.
