ISMS Internal Audit Training Course courtesy ICASL

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) in collaboration with India’s MIEL e-Security Pvt. Ltd. has organised an Information Security Management System (ISMS) – Internal Auditor Training Course on 30 and 31 August 2011.

The comprehensive two-day training course scheduled to be held at Excel world, Colombo 10, is targeted at Auditors, IS Security professionals, IT Professionals and compliance officers and will be conducted by Akhil Redkar of MIEL E-Security and will cover a variety of topics deemed important for internal auditors in today’s business set up.

The course outline will consist of a verity of topics including information security in brief, purpose and structure of ISO 27002, plan-do-check-act cycle, internal audit as a tool to improve security, key audit concepts, auditor competence, audit findings and audit report, audit checklists preparation, audit dos and don’ts and practical knowledge of conducting an ISMS audit.

At the end of the training course, all participants will be awarded a certificate of participation by MIEL e-Security.

Redkar is an accomplished information security professional who boasts of over seven years in Information Security Consulting and Auditing experience and extensive international exposure

Currently employed with MIEL as Manager – Education Services and also as an advisor to the consulting and audit team, Redkar is a CISA, CISM, SSCP, and an ISO2000 certified person with a Degree in Computer Engineering (B.E. Computers).

He is also well versed in ISO 27001/ISO 27002/Audits/PCI DSS/BCP/DRP/Gap analysis/Risk Assessment/Policies and Procedures formulation/HIPAA/ATM Process Audits/ISO20000 /Security Metrics/ Project Management/Execution/IS Strategy/Incident Management/ISO 27004/ISO 27005 etc.
