Janashakthi appoints Jude Fernando as Deputy CEO

Janashakthi Insurance PLC announced that senior professional Jude Fernando has been appointed Director/Deputy Chief Executive of the company. In his new role, Jude will be heading operations and gearing up the company to meet its future goals. Previously

Fernando held dual responsibilities as Director / CEO of Keels Holding Limited and Executive Director Sales and Distribution for Cargills Manufacturing Brands. An accountant by profession, Jude Fernando has held many senior positions during his 22-year career in the fields of finance, supply chain management, sales and marketing and international marketing. As Director and Chief Executive of Kotmale Holdings, he played a pivotal role in enhancing efficiency and productivity in several key areas. Prior to that he was a member of the Hemas Group Management Committee where he functioned as Director – Supply Chain in Hemas Manufacturing, with complete responsibility for the supply chain management of the organisation. He also served on the boards of listed companies such as Dunamis Capital PLC, Kelsey Homes and First Capital Holdings PLC. Jude Fernando was a member of the National Dairy Development Committee under the Ministry of Livestock Development. “I am pleased to welcome Jude Fernando to Janashakthi,” said Prakash Schaffter, Managing Director. “Jude is well qualified to lead the operations and with his in-depth understanding and experience of the market, he will be an asset to the team while positioning the insurance business for long-term growth.” Jude is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (UK), and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). He also holds an MBA from the University of Wales.
