In line with its strategic plan, Janashakhi Insurance is expanding its branch operations in 12 regions. One year ago, Janashakthi set up a strategic Life centre, pooling a sales-force of the highest calibre in one central location.
“It has been a year of continuous professional development for our Life sales-force. They are now geared to take their skills to the marketplace, in order to better serve our customers. We look forward to these sales personnel using their sharpened skills to further strengthen our presence across the island,” said Nilanga Karunarathne, Assistant General Manager – Life Sales (Corporate Sales & Strategic Channel Development).
The staff recruited to this centre received extensive training and development with the long term aim of improving the competencies of the sales staff. The personnel who have developed professionally have now been positioned in 12 strategic locations across the Western Province. These areas include Kandana, Negombo, Wattala, Gampaha, Avissawella, Minuwangoda, Homagama, Dehiwela, Nugegoda, Battaramulla, Athurugiriya and Pettah.
“3 June marks the first year anniversary of the Life Centre’s operations. Over the past year we have trained the Life Centre sales force extensively, and they are now in a position to take on additional responsibilities. We have taken a strategic decision to deploy them in key areas, so that they can continue to grow with Janashakthi,” said Hashra Weerawardena, General Manager – Life (Sales and Operations).
Currently, Janashakthi operates in more than 110 branches in order to reach and service its customers and provide superior customer service. “We aim to strengthen confidence in our customers and our own sales force keeping true to our brand promise in order to do this we need to be closer to our customers and integrate our business process to strengthen transparency and efficiency. It is with this aim in mind that we have strategically restructured our branch network,” Weerawardena stated.
Janashakthi’s Life Insurance business has shown impressive growth, with the portfolio growing by 17.8% in the first quarter 2015 alone, responding positively to regulatory changes.
The company has continuously been an innovator in the segment, introducing products such as Janashakthi LifeSaver, a tailored pension plan, Janashakthi Life Unlimited, a comprehensive life insurance policy scheme allowing for lifetime hospitalisation, natural death and accidents coverage with just a 20 year premium, and Janashakthi Family Plus, which is a flexible plan which can be tailormade to suit diverse needs of customers.
