An island-wide sticker promotion for three-wheel drivers ended in a grand draw which saw two three-wheelers being gifted to the lucky winners. M.R. Thilakarathne and K.W. Jayasinghe were the recipients of the vehicles. The promotion aimed at empowering three-wheel drivers and added value to the ongoing personal accident cover scheme.

K.W. Jayasinghe, who previously drove a three-wheel owned by a third party, expressed his gratitude to Janashakthi, saying: “I have always dreamt of owning a three-wheeler and increasing my income independent of others. I am grateful to Janashakthi for giving me this chance to realise my dream.”

To qualify for the benefits of the Janashakthi personal accident cover scheme, drivers have to display the Janashakthi branded sticker on the back of the three-wheelers. In the event of a death caused by an accident, the driver with a third party full option policy and his family will receive Rs. 10,000. Furthermore, if a three-wheeler driver without a full option policy meets with an accident, the next of kin will receive Rs. 50,000.

Commenting on this initiative, Shehara de Silva, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Janashakthi said: “Innovation, dynamism and social responsibility are predominant characteristics which drive Janashakthi’s portfolio of products and services. Janashakthi Insurance enjoyed a strong track record of launching a range of industry firsts during the last few years and thus revolutionising the local insurance market. This is another such product that we offer.”

She added: “There are over 500,000 three-wheeler drivers out there on the roads and unfortunately, accidents involving three-wheelers are frequent occurrences. Bearing all this in mind, we have transformed the Janashakthi sticker into a symbol of security and peace of mind. This scheme allows three-wheeler drivers and their families to rely on our assistance and care. This is Janashakthi’s dedication and commitment to the three-wheel drivers of Sri Lanka.”
