Janashakthi introduces ‘Full Option locator’ app for smartphones

Janashakthi’s prompt roadside assistance is now instantly available on smartphones. Opting for customer convenience Janashakthi introduced the ‘Full Options locator’ application for all its motor customers. Designed and developed in-house by Janashakthi IT team, the app uses a customer’s phone’s location-based services to allow the Janashakthi Full Option team to find the vehicle and send assistance. This app is integrated with Janashakthi Geographical Information System (jGIS), which gives accurate directions to the whereabouts of the relevant customer. Renowned for its innovative practises, the company’s the jGIS application won the Asia Insurance technology award for ‘Best Insurer Technology’ in Singapore hosted by Asia Insurance Review in 2012. “The judges commended Janashakthi for its use of game changing technology to improve risk management and to enhance customer service,” said Thilak Vithanage, Assistant General Manager, IT of Janashakthi Insurance PLC. “Our customers are increasingly embracing innovative technology and Sri Lanka’s smartphone market is quite large and growing fast. In this context, our decision to introduce this app is both timely and cost effective. Janashakthi is the first insurer in Sri Lanka to introduce a motor app,” said Kaushala Amarasekara, Senior Brand Manager Janashakthi. “In case of an accident, a motorist can simply enter the vehicle number on to area provided to enter ‘Vehicle No/Reference’ and tap ‘Report Now’ and one of our representatives will contact the customer within few minutes,” added Kaushala. In addition, the app enables Janashakthi team to locate customers in other emergencies. Anyone with a smartphone could submit the location and there is no need to activate the data package (internet connectivity) as this app will connect through a SMS gateway. Compatible with smartphones and tablets, this application does not require registration. Apart from its main function, the Full Option locator supports additional features such as guidelines to deal with an emergency situation and a list of useful contact numbers that the customer can dial through the app itself. If a customer activates the data package (internet connectivity), the app provides additional information to find out the nearest Janashakthi branch, police station, hospital and vehicle repair calling enters. Janashakthi Full Option, the company’s flagship brand, presents a plethora of services including 24-hour customer care, on site claim approval, no claim bonus, cash for hospitalisation, and island wide garage network. Janashakthi Insurance recently achieved exceptional result within the industry, recording its highest-ever Profit After Tax (PAT) growth of 78% for the first six months ending 30 June 2013. The company achieved this while honouring a hefty Rs. 1.9 billion in claims.
