Kumar Mayadunne joins SANASA Development Bank as COO

Senior Banker Kumar Mayadunne has joined SDBL as its new Chief Operating Officer, SANASA Development Bank (SDBL) announced.
“We are delighted to have on board Kumar Mayadunne, a senior banker with a wealth of experience in commercial banking to strengthen our management team. With his sound experience and exposure in Operations, Treasury, Personal Banking and Compliance, we are confident that his contribution will certainly be useful to implement SDBLs new strategies to take SDBL into the next phase of our development plan to align with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s Road Map on Financial Sector Consolidation” a SDBL communiqué said.
Mayadunne has held several senior managerial positions at Standard Chartered Bank (heading Operations, Treasury, Personal Banking and Trade Services), People’s Bank (Head of Banking Services) and Nations Trust Bank (Head/Consultant of Operational Risk and Compliance, Consultant Training – Banking Operations and Compliance) and served as a Consultant with Ernst & Young and as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Indra Finance Ltd.
An alumnus of the prestigious Ashridge Business School, UK, he has had extensive overseas training and attachments in banking operations in UK, UAE, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and India.
SANASA Development Bank has 82 branches across the country. In addition to its own ATM network, further ATM facilities are provided through the Commercial Bank of Ceylon ATM network with which SDBL has entered into an ATM sharing agreement.
