Lankaputhra Development Bank introduces ‘Jathika Viyavasayaka Athwela’ entrepreneurship training pro

To strengthen and support entrepreneurs, Lankaputhra Development Bank introduced the training program ‘Jathika Viyavasayaka Athwela’. The training program is conducted by Lankaputhra Development Bank with the support of the National Enterprise Development Authority. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two parties in Colombo recently. Small and medium scale entrepreneurs encounter many difficulties when doing business and ‘Jathika Vivasayaka Athwela’ was introduced as a long term solution by the Lankaputhra Development Bank. How to identify a business, prepare a business plan, legal issues involved when establishing a business , finding a market, keeping accounts and other numerous aspects which have to be considered when establishing and conducting a business and problem solving will be taught under these training programs. The training program will be held in many stages for entrepreneurs who have obtained loans from Lankaputhra Development Bank. In the initial stage, the bank plans to conduct two days sessions for each branch. For each training session, 30 entrepreneurs from the district will be selected. Subject knowledge will be given by professionals. Lankaputhra Development Bank together with the National Enterprise Development Authority will find the resource personnel. The National Enterprise Development Authority has developed a special training method to train the entrepreneurs. Initially, the training program will be held under the eight branches of the bank. The first program under the Jathika Viyavasayaka Athwela will be held for customers of the Polonnaruwa branch at the Divisional Secretariat Auditorium in Kantale in the first week of August. To make this program a success, the Chairman of the National Enterprise Development Authority N.M. Shaheid and Director Lakshman Wijewardena have extended their fullest support.
