Lankaputhra Development Bank supports Batticaloa entrepreneurs

Lankaputhra Development Bank recently held a Business Forum at the Bridge View Hotel, Batticaloa to strengthen and support the courageous entrepreneurs of Batticaloa. It was organised by the Batticaloa branch of the Lankaputhra Development Bank with the support of the Batticaloa district Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Federation and entrepreneurs representing many sectors were present. The forum discussed issues and problems faced by the entrepreneurs.

Akilan and Polonnaruwa Branch Manager Rahula Senanayka and entrepreneurs The main focus of the forum was on entrepreneurs engaged in the sectors of agriculture, industry, fisheries, education, tourism and construction and the practical issues they faced when dealing with banks. The entrepreneurs were given the opportunity to discuss with the top management of the bank to find solution for these issues in dealing with the banks and ensured that the required financial support will be given by the Batticaloa branch of Lankaputhra Development Bank. Most of the entrepreneurs who shared their ideas and issues said that they conducted their business activities in the past in an uncertain environment, but after the war ended an encouraging atmosphere has been created in the east to do business. The entrepreneurs thanked Lankaputhre Development Bank for coming forward to support their business ventures. GM/CEO Lasantha Amarasekera addressing the gathering said that as a government bank Lankaputhra Development Bank will always support the country’s development activities. The bank has organised special events to support the entrepreneurs in the rural areas and this forum was also organised with this aim.
