Largest shareholder Senthilverl quits The Finance Board

High net worth investor and biggest shareholder Dr. T. Senthilverl has resigned from the Board of The Finance Plc with effect from 20 August 2014.
He was appointed as a Non Executive Director on 8 February 2011 when TFC Board was restructured. He was joined by Prithi Jayawardena (the former Chairman), A.L. Devasurendra, N.A. Fernando and R. Nadarajag, all of whom resigned previously at different times.
As at June 2014 Dr. Senthilverl was the largest shareholder with 21.7% stake. His resignation has been approved by the Central Bank.
Dr. Senthilverl counts over four decades of active engagement in manufacturing, trading, land development, health, power & energy sectors, and industrial turnkey projects. Presently he holds number of other directorships in leading listed and unlisted companies.
Following the change, the Board of Directors of The Finance Company Plc comprises of Chairman S.H.A.M. Abeyratne (Chairman), Sujeewa Rajapaksha (Deputy Chairman), A.P. Lekamge (Managing Director), T.B. Ekanayake (Executive Director), Rohantha Athukorala (Non-Executive Director), R.D.
Abeywickrama (Executive Director) and A.L. Somaratne (Non-Executive Director).
