The annual get-together of the Leasing Association of Sri Lanka (LASL) will be held today, 7 August, at the Grand Ballroom of Waters Edge from 7 p.m. onwards.
The event which is being held for the 15th consecutive year will attract a large number of Sri Lanka’s top most leasing professionals and promises to be an absolute extravaganza with plenty of glamour and glitz as well as prizes and surprises.
The LASL was established in 1985 to promote, foster, protect and safeguard the interests of the Leasing Industry in Sri Lanka. The Association also plays an important role in regulating the industry and its players, ensuring proper conduct by member companies.
Over the years, leasing has become a very important industry in Sri Lanka as it facilitates the capital formation of the country thus contributing to the economic growth of many sectors. The industry also caters to people with varied needs and the SME sector while creating a bankable community. The industry further contributes significant revenue to the government as taxes.
The LASL provides a vital platform for its members to voice their opinions as well as to encourage the co-operation and coordination between leasing institutions, the public, the government and other authorities. Members of the association include leasing companies, development banks, finance companies, commercial banks and specialised banks.
LASL Chairman Nishaman Karunapala said: “The LASL Annual Get-together is the most sought after event for leasing industry professionals of Sri Lanka. It not only provides a great opportunity for networking and fellowship but it also provides us the opportunity to recognise and felicitate the top contributors to Sri Lanka’s leasing industry.”
