LRA signs technical assistance agreement with CRISIL India

Lanka Rating Agency (LRA), formerly known as RAM Ratings Lanka has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with CRISIL India to obtain technical assistance and training related to credit ratings. CRISIL is a global analytical company providing ratings, research and risk and policy advisory services. CRISIL is India’s leading ratings agency. CRISIL is also the foremost provider of high-end research to the world’s largest banks and leading corporations. CRISIL’s majority shareholder is Standard and Poor’s (S&P). Standard & Poor’s, a part of McGraw Hill Financial (formerly The McGraw-Hill Companies), is the world’s foremost provider of credit ratings. LRA Chairman Preethi Jayawardena said: “We are happy to associate with CRISIL, which is a Standard and Poor’s company. They provided technical assistance and training to set up Rating Agency Malaysia (RAM), our founder parent and MAALOT, the Israeli Securities Rating Company and Caribbean Information and Credit Rating Services Ltd. (CariCRIS), the largest domestic rating agency in Caribbean. We look forward to a rewarding partnership with CRISIL.”
