In addition MBSL will also offer customers a range of financial services, solutions and products to suit their needs such as corporate advisory, leasing, trade and project finance. Speaking at the occasion, MBSL Chairman Shah stated: “MBSL is committed towards providing the much needed financing for both small and large businesses, which are a vital component of our country’s economy. After a 30-year-long conflict, the country is now reawakening once again.

As banks touch the lives of all business and communities, we have an obligation to be part of the development of both infrastructure and human capital. We hope therefore to enable business entrepreneurs to take on the challenges of post war Sri Lanka.”

The Chief Guest at the occasion A. Nandakumar added that from colonial times the town of Hatton have been a main contributor to Sri Lanka’s economy through tea exports and said he was happy to note that MBSL was there to lend a hand to the people of this town.

MBSL is one of the fastest growing banks in Sri Lanka today.  It is Sri Lanka’s pioneer investment merchant bank incorporated in March 1982 and carries forward a distinguished legacy handed over to it by an equally eminent and a venerable financial institution – Bank of Ceylon

Its market positioning of being the benchmark of merchant banking services in Sri Lanka is now ably supported by a host of financial services and products that cater to the needs of the individual, corporate and institutional clients

The bank believes in a customer centric approach and aims to provide assistance to develop the lives of the communities, empowering them to make the most of their entrepreneurial skills to take up new business ventures that will result in elevating their social standing, while contributing towards the regional development of the country.
