Having served the state banking giant, Bank of Ceylon for over 37 years W.A Nalani, General Manager/CEO of the Bank retired from service last week. She was the third woman to have held this prestigious top post and was widely recognised in Sri Lankan business circles.

Embracing the challenge of top-tier management of the largest bank in Sri Lanka, this banker – par- excellence is synonymous with determination and versatility.

In her illustrious career at BoC Nalani has previously managed the dedicated Recovery unit of the bank in the capacity of Deputy General Manager for three years, before being called upon to head the Corporate and Offshore Division which she went on to manage for five years.

She was indeed a rare breed who demonstrated the wisdom of a common sense banker and understood the needs of the common man, entrepreneur and corporates.

She played a key role in leading the BoC Team on issuance of the debut International Bond of US Dollars 500 million in April this year very successfully.
