The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka has organised a half-day seminar to educate the public on investing in the stock market.
The seminar will be held on Thursday, 22 September 2011, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Chamber Auditorium, No. 450, D R Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10. Two speakers – Thushara Jayaratne, Assistant Director of Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka and S.R. Balachandran, a Chartered Accountant – will make presentations.
Market trends, sharing information with others, checking and analysing information before investing in the share market, avoiding hasty decisions that will lead to losses, obtaining the services of professional share brokers, distributing savings in various types of investment, risks in different type of investment and many other areas pertaining to investments in the share market will be discussed in detail.
The seminar will be useful for the general public who wants to select proper investment sources and also for the private sector organisations that wish to invest in the stock market. It will also be important for the beginners who like to invest in the stock market but find it difficult to enter it.
