Nations Trust Bank holds Annual Retail Awards Night

Nations Trust Bank now on a growth mode celebrated its Annual Retail Banking Awards recently, amidst an evening of glitz and glamour under the theme ‘Facets of Excellence’. This annual event is the platform at which staff members who excel are recognised and rewarded for their great performance in the year.

The evening kicked off with Chief Guest NTB Director/CEO Renuka Fernando, Executive Director Sarath Piyaratne and DGM Retail and SME Banking Keshini Jayawardena being ushered in escorted by the senior management of the Retail and SME division.

The lighting of the traditional oil lamp was replicated with the press of a high-tech button that brought about a glow and radiated the entire hall reflecting the theme ‘Facets of Excellence – Sparkling Talents’.

This division succeeded in rolling out the highest number of branches in 2012 with focus on key areas such as expansion of credit facilities across the branch network, the roll out of pawning services and the signing up of many worldwide partners to broad-base remittance services. Initiatives such as the re-launch of the Business Banking proposition with a lucrative rewards scheme and the opening of several Nations Business Centres were also key milestones that enabled Nations Trust Bank to achieve greater heights in the concluding year. The evening was attended by the corporate and senior management of the bank and the night showcased internal as well as external performances in terms of entertainment which enthralled the audience.  Awards were presented to a set of individuals and teams who emerged as overall winners in the Grammy Category, whose contributions reflected in the fields of sales, profitability, service and business impact. The award winners were as follows: Best Branch Manager – Sumedha Wijesekera; Best Branch for the Year – Havelock Town Branch; Best Personal Banking Centre (PBC) for the Year 2012 – Wattala PBC; Best SME Branch – Thalawathugoda Branch; Best Business Banking ARO – Dinal Peiris; Best Customer Relationship Officer – Nimantha Jeevan; Best Credit Assistant Manager – Asela de Silva; Best Credit Manager – Dinesh Dissanyake; and Best Branch Assistant Manager – Gayan Deepal.

All support functions of Nations Trust Bank also contributed to the Retail and SME division’s success. This was recognised at the awards night and in honour of their dedication an award of appreciation was presented to the senior management team of all the support divisions at this event.
