Nations Trust Bank opened its newest branch in Kottawa offering a wide array of financial services to the people of the area. With the opening of this branch, the branch network of Nations Trust Bank now extends to 73 locations across the island. The new branch is located at No 269/1, Mahalwarawa Junction, Kottawa and is open 365 days – on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The bank is also open on weekends, Poya days and other bank holidays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. providing convenience and easy access to the people in Kottawa. Kottawa is a suburb of Colombo city, administrated by the Maharagama Urban Council and shows a potential to become a key landmark in Sri Lanka’s road systems due to the development of highways particularly soon after the opening of Outer Circular highway. Most of the existing and future highways would get connected to this Outer Circular road including the proposed Kandy Express way. Kottawa can be identified as a home to many small and medium businessman and traders who with their contribution towards the industrial activity play a significant role in the economic development of Sri Lanka. Nations Trust Bank opened this latest branch in Kottawa with the aim of empowering its people and supporting them to propel the economic development of this fast pace town with a diverse range of banking products and financial expertise. Nations Trust Bank launched Leasing Plus recently, which is a major breakthrough in the leasing industry. With Leasing Plus every new lease, hire purchase facility or vehicle loan from Nations Trust Bank entitles the customer to a pre-approved overdraft, the value of which is linked to the face value of the leasing facility. This is a first in the leasing industry where the lease customer is entitled to an additional line of credit in the form of an over draft. It is envisaged that through this offer the customer would be in a better position to meet any unexpected financial commitment that may arise. The Kottawa branch offers a host of Retail Banking services, such as Current and Savings Accounts, Children’s Savings Accounts, Fixed Deposits, Investment Plans, Remittance Services and the American Express Card membership. Speaking at the opening Deputy General Manager – Retail and SME Banking Keshini Jayawardena stated: “We are happy to open our 73rd branch in Kottawa which is a fast pace developing city in the Colombo district. During the last couple of years this town has changed drastically with the development of the Southern Expressway. The opening of this branch will facilitate all retail and business banking solutions which is a necessity in a fast growing town like Kottawa. Our dedicated branch staff will provide our valued customers expert advices on investment opportunities and their regular banking needs. We hope to reach out to a much broader set of customers through our Branch expansion plans in 2014.” Nations Trust Bank PLC is one of the fastest growing banks in Sri Lanka today. The group recorded a profit after tax of Rs. 2,127 m for the 12 months ended 31 December 2013.
