NDB Bank extends reach in the east with opening of Kalmunai branch

NDB Bank extended its footprint to Kalmunai, rolling out its aggressive expansion program to reach out to communities in the Eastern Province. With the opening of the Kalmunai branch, NDB Bank increases its network to 59 branches.

This opening is a significant move for NDB Bank as they reiterate its commitment towards the development of the East.

Located in the district of Ampara, Kalmunai is a coastal town where the main livelihoods of its residents are fisheries and farming which play a pivotal role in the contribution of the national economy. Apart from this, they also engage in small scale business enterprises and trade to help strengthen and grow the economy of this coastal, farming town.

NDB Bank extends a range of financial services and solutions to spread positive change throughout the Kalmunai area.

The bank has identified that its SME banking service will be of great use to the traders and businessmen in this area and therefore will make every effort to provide the best SME banking service.

Through its NDB Divi Aruna Livelihood Development Scheme, the Bank will provide financial assistance to small and medium entrepreneurs who play an important role in the economic development of the Kalmunai area.

As such 27 men and women who are engaged in cottage industries such as pottery, tailoring and food benefited from the NDB Divi Aruna Livelihood Development Scheme. This is part of the Bank’s ongoing plans to spread the NDB Divi Aruna scheme to SME’s across the entire country.

The branch is located at No: 165, Batticaloa Road, Kalmunai and will be open from Monday to Saturday (excluding Sunday and public and bank holidays).
