NDB takes its universal banking services to Mahiyanganaya

Continuing its rapid expansion drive island wide, NDB opened its newest branch in Mahiyanganaya in a bid to support the rapid economic development taking shape in the area. With the opening of the latest branch, NDB branch network has now grown to 76. Mahiyanganaya is a city with renowned opulence and a rich heritage. Nourished by the historic ‘Sorabora’ lake and home to the indigenous natives of Sri Lanka; the abundance of its soil gives life to bountiful crops that sustain the economy of the nation. The city is acknowledged to hold great potential to contribute to the economic rejuvenation taking place within the country. The traditional agricultural economy and the growing industrial activity in Mahiyanganaya is opening up numerous entrepreneurial opportunities for the people in the region. NDB stepped into pristine Mahiyanganaya to propel its development and meet the diverse financial needs of its aspiring people. With the opening of its latest branch, NDB opened its doors to the aspiring entrepreneurs and businessmen in Mahiyanaganya to benefit from the bank’s many customised SME financing facilities and advisory services. With its expertise and knowledge in SME financing, the Bank is set to offer a range of SME banking solutions; including short term working capital loans, supplier and distributor finance and long term funding which will be beneficial to the farmers, traders, distributors as well professionals and proprietors in the area. With its new branch in Mahiyanganaya, NDB will also focus on developing the micro entrepreneurs and cottage industrialists in the region through its livelihood development scheme ‘Divi Aruna’; which promotes financial inclusion for the smaller enterprises in a bid to develop and upgrade them towards the SME sector. The bank laid an initial step towards this long term endeavour with the distribution of Divi Aruna Micro Finance Loan Schemes to 17 deserving individuals engaged in dairy farming and numerous other cottage industries; at a special ceremony held subsequent to the unveiling of the new branch. The NDB Mahiyanganaya branch will also offer a host of retail banking services, such as current and savings accounts, children’s savings accounts, NRFC/RFC accounts, fixed deposits, housing loans, education loans, leasing facilities, credit and debit cards, pawning services as well as Western Union Money transfer services coupled with the convenience of Internet banking and a call centre that operates 24 hours; so that customers in and around the area would have access to a wide array of modern banking solutions to help them meet their individual financial needs. The branch located at No. 2, New Town, Mahiyanganaya will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. offering the full range of banking services until late evening to the residents and businessmen of the area. The branch will also be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. offering further ease of access especially to the businessmen of the area.
