NDB takes mobile banking to the next level

The NDB Mobile Banking App widened the horizons of conventional banking apps by introducing more opportune solutions to its novel Mobile Banking App. Customers can have guaranteed safety for their debit and credit cards with the unique feature of switching them on or off whenever they need from wherever they are. 

Customers can also activate credit or debit cards instantly without calling the bank’s Call Centre. The app allows the customer to make payments to any post-paid or pre-paid mobile number registered in Sri Lanka. The customer will instantly be able to view all the latest deals and offers with the merchant location and details. The NDB Mobile Banking App introduces the ‘Shake’ element to make the customer’s mobile banking experience fun and easy to use.  With the Shake feature the customer just has to ‘Shake’ the phone to view the deal of the day without having to log in. Once logged in, the customer can ‘Shake’ the phone to view account balances.

With this app the customer can carry out fund transfers between own NDB accounts, transfers to third party NDB accounts and transfers to other bank accounts. NDB has further introduced an innovative ‘Pay to Mobile’ function where the customer can transfer funds to another NDB Mobile Banking customer without having to enter an account number, by simply inputting the mobile number. The customer could easily add and manage beneficiaries for making fund transfers to third party NDB accounts, fund transfers to other bank accounts, bill payments, mobile recharge and Pay to Mobile. 

A photo capture feature is provided for beneficiary registration where the customer can either capture a new photo or select from the existing photos in his or her mobile gallery. This feature enables the customer to easily identify beneficiaries at a glance when making a payment.

Another unique feature of this app is the ability to make payments to other bank credit cards (own/third party) by registering other bank credit card details through the app. Utility bill payments can also be done through credit cards using the app. For frequent payments, the customer can simply save the beneficiary details for greater convenience, set own transaction limits, report lost cards without the hassle of calling the Call Centre and carry out many more banking activities. 

Unlike other apps in the market, NDB gives the customer an opportunity to self-register. Customers who wish to use the NDB Mobile Banking App can download the app from the respective app stores and register for the service using an existing debit or credit card number and PIN, or existing internet banking login credentials. 

The customer also has the option of walking into an NDB branch where NDB staff will assist the customer to register. The ‘Locate Us’ feature gives the customer a map view of all the NDB branches and ATMs with a view of and distance to the nearest NDB Bank or ATM at any given time or place.
