NDB takes universal banking services to Yakkala

NDB opened its newest branch in Yakkala in a bid to support the rapid economic development taking shape in the area. With this opening, NDB branch network has now grown to Seventy Three (73), signaling a steady continuation of the Bank’s rapid expansion drive.

Yakkala, a rapidly growing economic hub in the western province was hitherto well known for its heritage of producing indigenous medicine and is home to one of the country’s most renowned Ayurvedic universities.

Province; especially due to its unique geographic positioning, centric to main roads connecting major cities such as Colombo, Kandy and Negombo. The city is acknowledged to hold great potential to contribute to the economic rejuvenation taking place within the country.   With the opening of its latest branch, NDB opened its doors to the aspiring entrepreneurs and businessmen in Yakkala to benefit from the Bank’s many customized SME financing facilities and advisory services. With its expertise and knowledge in SME financing, the Bank is set to offer a range of SME Banking solutions; including short term working capital loans, supplier and distributor finance and long term funding which will be beneficial to the traders, distributors as well professionals and proprietors in the area.

With its new branch in Yakkala, NDB will also focus on developing the micro entrepreneurs and cottage industrialists in the region through its livelihood development scheme ‘Divi Aruna’; which promotes financial inclusion for the smaller enterprises in a bid to develop and upgrade them towards the SME sector. The Bank laid an initial step towards this long term endeavour in the region with the distribution of Divi Aruna Micro Finance Loan Schemes to 17 deserving individuals engaged in numerous cottage industries; at a special ceremony held subsequent to the unveiling of the new branch.

The branch located at No 65/5B, Kandy Road, Yakkala will be open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm offering the convenience of extended banking hours to the residents and businessmen of the area.
