NDBIB wins six awards in 2013

NDB Investment Bank Ltd. (NDBIB), the premier investment bank in Sri Lanka, received six awards within a year signifying its continued leadership in the Sri Lankan capital market. Most recently, NDBIB was adjudged as ‘Best Investment Bank in Sri Lanka 2013’ by International Finance Magazine (IFM), a leading online magazine based in London providing information, analysis and insights for the global finance community. The award was presented to NDBIB Assistant Vice President Avanthi Dissanayaka by Director and Publisher of IFM Sunil Bhat at the International Finance Magazine Awards ceremony, held in December 2013, at Jumeirah Towers Hotel, Dubai. Distinctive guests including top executives of global banks and financial powerhouses operating in the Asian region attended the gala event. Commenting on the event, Dissanayaka, stated: “It was indeed an honour to be among so many distinguished guests from the banking and finance sector and I was privileged to accept the award for the Best Investment Bank in Sri Lanka for 2013 on behalf of NDBIB. We at NDBIB are proud to have been recognised for our achievements by the IFM Awards.” Earlier, NDBIB was adjudged the ‘Best Investment Bank in Sri Lanka’ at the Awards for Excellence 2013 by Euromoney, the world’s premier financial markets magazine, for the second consecutive year. In 2012, NDBIB became the first investment bank in the history of Sri Lanka to have received an international accolade for excellence by Euromoney. World Finance Magazine, a highly acclaimed international business journal also awarded NDBIB as the ‘Best Investment Bank in Sri Lanka 2013’. In addition, the company received three awards from Global Banking and Finance Review in March 2013, namely, ‘Best Investment Bank in Sri Lanka 2013’, ‘Most Innovative Investment Bank in Sri Lanka 2013’ and ‘Most Innovative Asset Backed Securitisation in Sri Lanka 2013’. NDBIB Chief Executive Officer Darshan Perera, commenting on receiving six awards in one year, stated: “It is a great honour for NDBIB to be awarded as the Best Investment Bank in Sri Lanka by four organisations committed to excellence in financial journalism.
