New Board to take Asian Finance to greater heights

Subsequent to the recent change of ownership of Asian Finance, a leading finance company in the country has appointed a new board of directors, who are geared to take the company to greater heights. The new Board comprises three Malaysians and three local high profile entrepreneurs and professionals.

Dato Seri King Sing (Chairman): A Member of Parliament, a leading business professional and a social worker in Malaysia. He possesses Master of Business Administration and Management, Master of Business Administration in Political Science by Royal Ireland Institute of Business & Technology, Ireland. He has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Agriculture by the National Pingtung University of Science & Technology, Taiwan.

Dato Seri Abdul Azim Bin Mohd Zabidy (Deputy Chairman): A veteran banker and a high profile business professional in Malaysia.

He has been the Chairman of Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) which is also known as the Malaysian National Savings Bank for 10 years. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Law from London Metropolitan University and a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries (UK).

Senator Pau Ung (Director): A leading entrepreneur in Malaysia. He has held several high profile positions in the corporate industry.  He is the Managing Director of Okutai Timber Products Sdn Bhd, Seawise Shipping Sdn Bhd and also in Poly Trading Company in Malaysia and holding Directorships in many other leading business organisations in Malaysia.

Col. Weebadda Mud-iyanselage Wijayadasa Wanasinghe (Director): an ex- civil servant and has been a Director of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He has been the chairman of Regional Development Bank, Anuradhapura.  

Yahampatharatchige Joseph Sunimal Perera (Director): An Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, a Fellow Member of certified Management Accounts of Sri Lanka and Member of Institute of Certified Professional Managers & a Registered Company Secretary. Senior partner of GMS Associates, Chartered Accountants.

Jayalath Arachchilage Nandani Dissanayake (Director): Attorney-at-Law, Associate of Institute of Bankers and Diploma in Bank Management in Institute of Bankers.  She has served as the Secretary to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Director of Management Audit and counts over 20 years service in the Senior Level in Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

She was the Secretary to the Presidential Commission on Failed Finance Companies also has served as the Director, Sabaragamuwa Development Bank. The new owners have kept confidence in the Chief Executive Officer Sanathana Dalugoda, who was instrumental in turning around the company, to take it forward.    Dalugoda is a Senior Chartered Accountant, counting over 20 years experience in the fields of finance, services and manufacturing industries.
