Nelliady, the largest city in the Northern Province and the second largest town in Jaffna saw the entry of Nations Trust Bank (NTB) recently as its 51st branch.

The Bank will offer its popular 365 day banking coupled with extended banking hours.

“Nations Trust Bank a key player in the financial services industry reiterated their commitment towards expansion in the North with the opening of their second branch in the territory,” the Bank said.

Nelliady is located in one of the historic regions of Vadamarachchi, surrounded by fertile green fields and is testament to a thriving agricultural economy.

Such expansion also supports the country’s development by moving to locations outside the Western Province.

Located at 171/1, Jaffna Road, Nelliady, the new branch is based on their proprietary design concept offering the ultimate in banking standards with extended banking hours, greater convenience and simplicity in banking.

With the entry to Neliady, NTB will offer customers in the town a range of products to suit their individual as well as business banking requirements.

The ongoing Nations Saver Savings account promotion across the branch network offers an array of electrical household appliances to savers which could be won at every branch each quarter.

This promotion will now be extended to the people of Nelliady giving them an equal opportunity to participate by maintaining a minimum balance of Rs.5, 000/- for the 3 months in their savings account.

Each additional Rs.5, 000/- saved in the account will add multiple chances to the quarterly draws which will be held at every branch.

NTB also offers Personal as well as Kidz Investment Plans with guaranteed fixed monthly interest rates which allow planning for the future.

The suite of segmented product offerings includes the Private Banking and Inner Circle Membership, Platinum and Gold Membership for the Business customers. Additionally the bank offers Foreign Currency Deposits and Investment Services, a host of attractive Leasing packages for registered as well as unregistered vehicles and machinery, Home Loans, Personal loans and Vehicle loan facilities.

NTB has been in operation for over 12 years and has grown in strength and stability.

The Bank had its best year ever in 2011 posting an after-tax profit of Rs. 1.5 Bn, up 40% over 2010.

This was a significant uplift in earnings and also a stable balance sheet recording a balanced growth in deposits and advances. Essentially the bank was able to grow the business - advances up 39% and deposits up 38% - that resulted in a liquid and a well capitalized Balance Sheet.

It is now focused on providing a wide range of products to the Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs).

The opening of Nations Business Centres in a number of locations has facilitated the offer of financial solutions to the diverse needs of the business community across the country.

The branch network also offers Remittance services and a number of global partners have been signed up to offer seamless transactions to customers. Pawning services is another facility that is being promoted.

These products and services have helped to win over and maintain a strong and loyal customer base in a short period of time.

Commenting on this 51st branch opening, Director/CEO Saliya Rajakaruna said, we are happy to open a second branch in the Northern peninsula to serve our expanding but discerning customer base with a range of value propositions to suit their financial needs.

Nations Trust Bank in its quest for inclusive growth will facilitate a number of customer touch points in the form of a wider branch network thereby providing access to a larger segment of the population to experience a different banking service that is coupled to unprecedented convenience.”
