NTB’s participation at BITE a success

The whole nation united as one is committed to development and growth. Hence it is important that all communities support the various events held to focus on such development and growth.



The Batticaloa International Trade Exhibition 2011 (BITE) which began on 7 October saw three days of success. It brought together key people and businesses from various industries.

The exhibition, an initiative by the Lanka Exhibitions and Conference Services, was in partnership with the Batticaloa District Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, with the guidance of the National Enterprise Development Authority – an arm of the Trade and Commerce Ministry. It featured over 300 stalls and saw some 100’000 visitors over the course of three days.

The NTB stall, Nations Express Centre, which offered a range of exciting offers and enticing packages, attracted a large crowd of potential investors and business people. The special loans offered were especially useful. These loans were available at an interest rate of 12 – 15% with capital capped at Rs. 3.5 million.  In addition the one month interest free deal on pawning transactions and the leasing tie ups with AMW, Mitsubishi, DIMO, Browns and Toyota added value for the customers’ of Batticaloa. Other offers presented various rewards and reward schemes in conjunction with Savings and current accounts. American Express Credit Card offers too were well received. “It was really uplifting to see the level of interest shown by the people in Batticaloa. I have no doubt that Batticaloa and in fact the entire East of Sri Lanka will benefit from this Exhibition. It has brought together the necessary parties in an endeavor to trigger the right relationships,” said Saliya Rajakaruna of Nations Trust Bank.
