P.A. Lionel re-elected as President of Sri Lanka Forex Association at AGM

P.A. Lionel was elected as the President of Sri Lanka Forex Association for the second term at the Annual General Meeting held on 1 September. Lionel is the Senior Deputy General Manager (International, Treasury and Investment) of Bank of Ceylon and one of the most senior members of the Sri Lanka Forex Association. He joined the Bank of Ceylon in 1983 as a Management Trainee and later started his dealing career in 1988 at the Bank of Ceylon Dealing Room. Out of his career spanning 30 years, he has been involved in treasury, international and investment activities for over 25 years. He has extensive dealing exposure in both local and overseas markets. He was the Head of Treasury of Bank of Ceylon Karachi from 1998 to 2001. He was the CEO of the Bank of Ceylon Primary Dealer Unit for four years. He also held positions of Assistant General Manager (Treasury) and Deputy General Manager (Investment Banking and Human Resource). He has been instrumental in introducing several new products and handled large syndications, debenture issues and bond issuances of Bank of Ceylon. He serves as a Director of Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC, Lanka Hospitals Diagnostic, Property Development PLC, Koladeniya Hydro Power Ltd., Lanka Securities Ltd., and Ceybank Asset Management Ltd. Lionel is a member of the Governing Board of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and also a member of the Cabinet appointed Procurement Committee of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
