People’s Bank branches and service centres to open for Avurudu ganu-denu on 14 April

Being a bank that always added new meaning to the age old traditions of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, all the branches of the People’s Bank island-wide will be open for New Year ganu-denu on Sunday, 14 April from 8.30 a.m. The public will have the opportunity to deposit money, open new accounts and make deposits for savings certificates.

Depositors will be rewarded with exciting prizes on the day. For every savings certificate worth Rs. 50,000 customers will receive a gas cooker plus a blender for Rs. 25,000 certificates, a wall-clock for Rs. 10,000 certificates and for an umbrella for Rs. 5,000 certificates.

Keeping in line with the traditions, all the People’s Bank customers will be given a Rs. 10 note on a betel leaf with wishes of good fortune for the New Year and they will be able to enjoy a feast of kevum and kiribath at the branch. People’s Bank branches and service centres will be celebrating the New Year festivities and the bank cordially invites all the customers to carry out their traditional New Year ganu-denu with the People’s Bank.
