People’s Bank celebrates Deepavali

Commemorating the recently-held Deepavali festival, 23 People’s Bank branches and service centres remained open for transactions in areas such as North, East, Vanni, Kandy, Kegalle, Rathnapura, Galle, Nuwara Eliya, Puttalam and Colombo where most Hindu devotees live. Furthermore, most of the branches held special Deepavali celebrations. The main celebration was held at the Wellawatta branch of People’s Bank under the patronage of People’s Bank Chief Executive Officer/General Manager N. Vasantha Kumar. A special Hindu ‘pooja’ was conducted to invoke the blessings for the nation, customers as well as the staff of People’s Bank. Various Hindu cultural items added colour to the ceremony. The corporate and executive management of the bank, customers as well as a large gathering of residents around the area were present at the event.
