People’s Bank celebrates International Women’s Day with people of Jaffna

Commemorating International Women’s Day, People’s Bank organised a special celebration together with the people in Jaffna to appreciate the women of Sri Lanka on 8 March at the Stanley Road branch in Jaffna.

Addressing the event, Board Member of People’s Bank Dharma N. Gammanpila, Vice Chancellor of the Jaffna University Wasantha Arsarathnam, Senior Librarian of the Jaffna University S. Sivaneshan and the Vice President of the Jaffna District Netball Federation A.F.J. Rubasingham delivered special speeches on the significance of International Women’s Day while appreciating the invaluable service rendered by the women of our country.

The launch of ‘Vanitha Vasana Tri-Month Saving and Vanitha Vasana Wish Tree’ that will take place from 1 March to 31 May was also carried out simultaneously.

The event was also attended by Board Members of People’s Bank Laxmi Kumari Sangakkara, Vishaka Amarasekera, Deputy General Manageress (Retail Banking) Renuka Jayasinghe, Assistant General Manager (Marketing and Product Development) Chandrasiri Fernando, Acting Regional Manager K. Susendran, Accountant of Postal Department in Jaffna Sudarshini Kaleichelvan and Commissioner of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services in Jaffna T. Uma, together with a majority of women in the Jaffna region including customers and citizens.
