As a program that is dedicated to educating the small and medium scale entrepreneurs in the country the prime objective of the ‘Entrepreneurial Glory’ program is to make the SMU community aware of many important subject matters such as entrepreneurship, business planning, sales management, financial accounting and management, and tax related issues. The ‘Entrepreneurial Glory’ program has since gained an immense popularity amongst the country’s entrepreneurial community as an important community service rendered by the bank. The eventual goal of Entrepreneurial Glory is to enhance the ‘financial literacy’ of the members of this important industry segment so they can better manage and sustain their business ventures and make a worthy contribution towards the national economy.
The program, which was spearheaded by the Colombo Outer Region of People’s Bank was conducted with the expertise of many resource persons, including renowned Trainer/Human Talent Development Specialist Sanath Gamage, Commissioner, Department of Inland Revenue, Bandula Haputanthrige, Assistant General Manager (SME), People’s Bank, Wickrama Narayana, Assistant General Manager, Western Zone 2, T.D. De Z Gunawardane and Regional Manager Wasantha Ratnayake. A large number of staff members and customers also attended the seminar.
People’s Bank has made arrangements to rollout the Entrepreneurial Glory program covering all its key regions with a view to reaching out to the largest possible cross section of small and medium scale entrepreneurs who make an invaluable contribution towards shaping the financial landscape of the country.
