Introduced together with the People’s Bank Jaya Sri Grand Draw 2013, the ‘Door-to-Door Savings for All’ promotion was ceremonially launched recently at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya in Anuradhapura.
A special religious ceremony was held to invoke blessings by the Chief Incumbent of the Sri Maha Bodhiya and other Chief Incumbents.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister S.M. Chandrasena, Chief Minister of the North-Central Province, S.M. Ranjith Samarakoon, MP Shehan Semasinghe, Minister of Provincial Councils (North-Central Province) H.B. Semasinghe and District Secretary of Anuradhapura Mahinda Seneviratne. Additionally, People’s Bank Chairman Gamini Senarath together with the board of directors, corporate and executive management of the bank, trade union representatives, pensioners and members of staff graced this occasion as well.
A conference was organised at the North-Central Province auditorium to notify the members of staff on the ‘Jaya Sri 2013’ and ‘Door-to-Door Savings for All’ promotions. The ceremony saw People’s Bank staff members from Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Vanni, Matale, Kandy and Kurunegala in attendance. People’s Bank Chairman Gamini Senarath addressed the large gathering while the trade union representatives pledged their fullest support towards the promotion.
With the participation of the Chairman of People’s Bank, Board of Directors, Corporate and Executive Management of the bank, members of staff and pensioners, the Jaya Sri 2013 walk commenced its journey from the premises of the bank’s Nuwaraweva branch and continued towards the new bus stand in Anuradhapura.
Motor vehicles which are to be gifted to the winners of the Jaya Sri 2013 grand draw were made a part of the parade, which also included display vehicles carrying promotional material of the bank and included dance items too. During the walk, members of the public were seen handing over cash deposits to People’s Bank Chairman and receiving their respective gifts. At the conclusion of the walk, Senarath unveiled a People’s Bank Service Centre at the public market in Anuradhapura.
Staff of People’s Bank branches island-wide was also simultaneously engaged in the door-to-door savings for all promotions in their respective areas.
The objectives of the People’s Bank promotion were to inform the general public of the various banking facilities available at the bank and to promote the importance of saving amongst them and instead of the public making their way to the bank, in this instance it was the bank that was going towards the people. Yet another objective of the promotion was to inform the public of the Jaya Sri 2013 Grand Draw. While providing interest and other benefits to those who save, Jaya Sri 2013 will offer customers a fabulous opportunity to win valuable houses, motor vehicles and cash prizes.
At the grand draw, maintaining a minimum balance of Rs. 10,000 for one month will entitle customers to enter the monthly draw, while maintaining a minimum balance of Rs. 50,000 will provide customers an opportunity to enter the year end grand draw. At the monthly draw, a Suzuki Alto Car, 24 cash prizes worth Rs. 100,000 and 690 cash prizes worth Rs. 10,000 can be won each month.
At the year-end grand draw, two super luxury houses can also be won with the option for customers choose to receive the cash value of the houses instead. Another feature of this program is that more winning chances will be offered to those who save more.
