People’s Bank launches YES Account for a greener and seamless digital banking experience

In a unique initiative to mark International Youth Day, People’s Bank has declared 12 August to 31 October period as the ‘YES 3MC’, where customers who open a YES Account during this period will receive a host of attractive benefits. 

As a bank that promotes environmental sustainability, the YES Account encourages paperless banking by doing away with the traditional passbooks. By participating in the YES Account Green initiative, People’s Bank account holders will be contributing to the bank’s efforts towards maintaining environmental equilibrium and sustainability for the future. 

On an aggressive digitalisation drive, People’s Bank is spearheading such unique technology-backed sustainable banking solutions for a greener planet. The focus of the campaign is to capitalise on the trend of increasing digital adoption amongst the target group which prefers to transact on the digital platform.

Commenting on the campaign, People’s Bank Head of Marketing and Research Deepal Abeysekara said: “People’s Bank’s YES account offers an attractive opportunity for our customers to become stakeholders of our extensive environmental protection efforts. Paperless banking is being practiced in many parts of the world and is contributing towards reducing carbon footprint. Likewise, we are proud to launch the YES account that is part of the bank’s ambitious digitalisation drive to deliver a seamless digital experience to customers and elevate Sri Lanka’s banking and financial services to an international digital platform. Our Environmental Sustainability Policy, the People’s Green Pulse, is inspiring the bank to think out of the box to design one-of-a-kind banking solutions for a greener future.” 

For the first time in history of the Sri Lankan banking industry, environmentally-friendly minded youth will be attracted by the People’s Voice Banking App, which empowers them to check their balance via their mobile phones by a simple voice command, thereby making the process convenience and paperless. 

A viral campaign has been launched on social media featuring a fun music video focusing on the digital era. People’s Bank is confident that such innovative solutions will inspire young adults to affirm their commitment to opt for eco-friendly solutions for a more sustainable future.
