People’s Insurance launches new website

Taking yet another step to demonstrate commitment to building long-term relationships with customers, People’s Insurance unveiled its new website this week.



The website was launched by People’s Insurance Chairman Jehan P. Amaratunge in the presence of key officials of the organisation and media personnel.

The website will offer prospective and existing customers comprehensive information about the company’s products and services. Powered by Affno, the user-friendly website allows easy navigation and guides the customers to identify by themselves products that suit their needs.

Having commenced commercial operations in January 2010 as a non-life (general) insurance provider, People’s Insurance has pioneered some unique features in the new website that enhances customer convenience.

Such features include the ‘Call me Back’ option which is a medium for customers to present their queries without having to visit a branch. While the professional team of People’s Insurance follow and respond to the inquires, the company stated that the feature will help boost sales on account of its speed and efficiency, coupled the benefit of cost savings to customers.

Incorporated to the website is also a detailed FAQ section which aims to educate users on the benefit of insurance and industry specific terms, empowering the customers of People’s Insurance to make informed decisions.

“People’s Insurance Limited has been envisaged as an insurance company that will fulfill the rapidly evolving insurance needs of the people while provide them with secure solutions for a lifetime,” Amaratunge said during his address at the launch. He asserted that with online insurance transactions becoming a norm nowadays, the newly-launched “technological advanced” website is expected to deliver to customers a pleasant interaction experience and guide them towards right solutions.

Acknowledging the support extended by People’s Bank and People’s Leasing and Finance PLC, he expressed that with continued investment in human capital and technology, “we are confident that we are geared to move to the next level”.

Amaratunge pointed that the company firmly believes that it stands at the threshold of a bright future and opines that it’s time to accelerate its operations to reach out to a wider network whilst focusing on customer responsiveness professionalism, transparency, and accountability.

People’s Insurance offers a wide range of products to suit both individual and corporate clients under lifestyle and business. Its insurance cover for individuals include dwelling fire, home insurance, personal accident and motor vehicle insurance, whereas its insurance for corporate clientele covers commercial fire, business interruption (consequential loss), plate glass, burglary, fidelity guarantee, machinery/electronic equipment, contractor’s all risks, workmen’s compensation, public liability, motor vehicle, marine (cargo) and goods in transit insurance.
